Nicholas Edward Foles (born January 20, 1989) is an American football quarterback currently playing for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He has also played for the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Rams. Foles began his professional career as the backup to Eagles starting quarterback Michael Vick in 2012. In Foles' first season as a starter, he became only the second quarterback to achieve a perfect passer rating game (158.3) while throwing for 400 or more yards in a game in Week 9 of the 2013 season. He also tied the record for most touchdowns in a game with seven and most consecutive passes completed by a quarterback with 25. Foles was named to his first Pro Bowl that season.
In 2014, Foles broke his collarbone in a game against the Houston Texans. He was traded the following season, and spent tenures in St. Louis and Kansas City before returning to Philadelphia in 2017 to serve as the backup to Carson Wentz. After Wentz was injured later that season, Foles was named the starter. He helped lead the Eagles to Super Bowl LII where they defeated the New England Patriots by a score of 41–33 to secure the franchise's first Super Bowl championship in its history. Foles scored four total touchdowns in the game, including a receiving touchdown. For his efforts in the match, Foles was named Super Bowl MVP.
